By overseeing the company's strategic, marketing, operational and financial performance, he enables it to successfully provide expert HVAC, mechanical, electrical and facilities services, while maintaining the tight quality controls that ensure total customer satisfaction.

Expertise

Phil has over 35 years of general management, sales and operations experience. A decisive, energetic and results-oriented executive, he has had profit and loss responsibility for businesses with as many as 1,800 employees and up to $500 million in sales. Thanks to his strong leadership in both growth and turnaround situations, he has built effective, high-performance teams and a consistent record for accelerating revenues and earnings.

Prior to joining EMCOR, Phil worked his way up through the ranks at Carrier Corporation. After holding a variety of manufacturing, special markets application engineering and applied products marketing positions, he became a building systems sales engineer and branch sales manager, winning numerous sales volume and market share awards. As a result, he was promoted first to district service manager for New England, and later, to area manager for building systems and services in New England and Upstate New York. During this time, his district was consistently among the top three in key performance metrics.

His next role was as East Coast zone manager, where he developed the best practices and business infrastructure model that became the basis for the entire Commercial Services Division. This achievement made him the logical choice to become the division's vice president and general manager. From this leadership position, he molded the organization's 97 branch offices into a customer-focused, high-performance unit.

Before taking the helm at EMCOR Services Northeast, Phil was vice president, operations, for EMCOR Construction Services, where he was responsible for the performance of eight operating companies. In fiscal 2006, his experienced and effective management led to record level revenues and operating income.

Phil holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering technology from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston. During his 33 years with Carrier, he supplemented his knowledge with extensive product, application and systems training, covering unitary and applied HVAC systems and controls. He also attended numerous training sessions on such topics as sales presentations, negotiating, strategic selling, interviewing and selecting, mentoring, coaching and employee retention. In addition, he has studied finance for senior executives in the Harvard University Executive Education Program, and participated in the United Technologies Corporation Leadership Development Program, the ITO University Achieving Competitive Excellence Program and the Babson College Executive Leadership Program.

Phil is a member of the Mechanical Contractors Association of American (MCAA) and the Mechanical Service Contractors Association (MSCA).

The Personal Side

Phil and his wife have been married 40 years and have three children. In his leisure time, he enjoys playing golf, reading and traveling.
